Overview

The University of New Mexico-Taos Campus is a regional branch of the University of New Mexico, located in Ranchos de Taos, approximately 135 miles northeast of Albuquerque. Established in 1994, this institution caters to a diverse student population seeking both academic and vocational studies. The campus environment boasts a blend of contemporary structures and traditional Pueblo-style architecture, reflecting the cultural heritage of the region. UNM-Taos provides a wide range of associate degree programs, certificate programs, and community education courses with particular emphasis on fields such as nursing, business, renewable energy, and fine arts. With an open admissions policy, the campus is accessible to all applicants who meet the basic requirements for admission. The campus does not provide on-campus student housing. UNM-Taos focuses on delivering accessible education and training opportunities relevant to its community and the greater northern New Mexico region, rather than having a notable presence in intercollegiate athletics.

University of New Mexico Taos Campus has an open admission policy which permits enrollment by any high school graduate or GED holding student.  141 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 1,081 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $1,872 plus fees of $132.
