Navajo Technical University, located in Crownpoint, New Mexico on the Navajo Nation reservation, is a public tribal land-grant institution serving predominantly Native American students. The main campus, situated in a rural high-desert setting approximately 170 miles northwest of Albuquerque, features modern academic facilities and technical training centers. Originally established in 1979 as the Navajo Skills Center and later known as Crownpoint Institute of Technology, the institution achieved university status in 2013.
