Great Basin College

Great Basin College serves northeastern Nevada from its main campus in Elko, a rural community situated along Interstate 80 approximately 230 miles west of Salt Lake City. The public community college, established in 1967 as Elko Community College, operates multiple satellite centers across a 62,000-square-mile service area including locations in Battle Mountain, Ely, Pahrump, and Winnemucca. The institution provides associate degrees, select bachelor's programs, and certificates with emphasis areas in health sciences, technical trades, and business, while serving as a primary source of workforce development for Nevada's mining industry. Great Basin College maintains an open enrollment policy and offers both on-campus housing options and distance learning programs to serve its geographically dispersed student population.
