Jewell is an amazing college...it's a college town vibe that is just adjacent to a large metropolitan area. You have small class sizes and amazing professors (you won't be taught by TAs) as well as excellent overseas studies options. My advisors knew me well and we met to review my course plan every semester. The Harriman-Jewell fine arts program is internationally renowned and available to each student. You won't be just a number on this campus. The Student Affairs dept is highly engaged with its student body. It's so easy and rewarding to be involved on campus, and the academics are intellectually stimulating and rigorous. The new media center is on par with any of the larger public universities that I've toured, and there are tons of great opportunities for internships and networking for post-graduate positions both locally and nationally.

I graduated from Jewell in 1959. The emphasis was on "faith" and NOT on education. I would not recommend Jewell as an educational institution.

Horrible waste of money. High recommend going elsewhere. Very expensive. Dorm always has issues whether the heater is not working in winter or airconditioner is broke down in summer. Water heaters broke down a lot. Brown water from faucets. Advisors are useless. Do not help map out your classes or next steps to reach your goals. Will recommend that you change your major or go elsewhere if you don't. Teachers do not care about the students. They are only there to collect a paycheck. Will definitely be changing colleges next semester
