Hannibal-LaGrange University (HLGU), founded in 1858, is a private Christian liberal arts university located in Hannibal, Missouri, known for its picturesque campus overlooking the Mississippi River. The institution is approximately 120 miles north of St. Louis, offering students the serenity of a small town with proximity to a major city. HLGU provides a range of undergraduate programs with notable emphasis on nursing, criminal justice, business administration, and education. The university has a less selective admissions process and accommodates students with a variety of academic backgrounds. Campus life includes residential facilities that foster a close-knit living community. While HLGU maintains a variety of extracurricular activities, it is not predominantly recognized for its athletics programs.
