Located in the heart of Jackson, Mississippi's capital city, Millsaps College is a private liberal arts institution established in 1890 through a gift from Major Reuben Webster Millsaps. The 100-acre campus features Georgian Colonial architecture and is distinguished by its inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places. Millsaps maintains selective admission standards and operates on a liberal arts core curriculum model, with particularly strong programs in business, sciences, and pre-medical studies. The college provides residential housing for most students across its seven dormitories and two apartment complexes, and competes in NCAA Division III athletics as the Majors in the Southern Athletic Association.
