Blue Mountain College is a private Christian liberal arts institution situated in the small town of Blue Mountain in northern Mississippi, approximately 75 miles southeast of Memphis, Tennessee. The campus, established in 1873 as a women's college by the Mississippi Baptist Convention, occupies a rural setting with traditional brick buildings spread across its grounds. While historically a women's college, Blue Mountain became fully coeducational in 2005 and maintains its affiliation with the Mississippi Baptist Convention. The college focuses primarily on undergraduate education, offering programs in education, business, psychology, and Christian ministry, with teacher education being one of its cornerstone academic offerings. Students are required to live on campus unless they meet specific exemption criteria, and the college competes in the NAIA Division I athletics as the Toppers.
