The University of Minnesota Crookston (UMC) operates as a public baccalaureate institution in northwest Minnesota, situated in the Red River Valley approximately 25 miles from Grand Forks, North Dakota. The campus originated in 1905 as the Northwest School of Agriculture before transitioning to a full university campus in 1966 and joining the University of Minnesota system.
