Minnesota West Community and Technical College's Granite Falls campus is situated in rural southwestern Minnesota, approximately 120 miles west of Minneapolis-St. Paul. The campus occupies a modern facility overlooking the Minnesota River Valley and serves as one of five locations in the Minnesota West system. Established in 1965 as Granite Falls Area Vocational Technical Institute before merging into the Minnesota West system in 1997, the campus specializes in technical and career programs including powerline technology, wind energy technology, and computer support technology. The facility maintains specialized training laboratories and outdoor practice areas for its technical programs, with particular emphasis on energy sector training facilities. Students can access on-campus housing options through a partnership with a nearby apartment complex, though many students commute from surrounding communities.
