if you're looking for a more traditional college experience, this isn't the place for you. campus life is pretty quiet. there aren't a lot of parties on campus. there is one frat and one sorority, and the frat has been highly problematic in the past. Its located in the midway, which is kind of a sketchy area of Saint Paul. I recommend that students have a car on campus. campus safety is mostly students, and while they do offer to come get you and pick you up from anywhere within a one mile radius of campus, it takes a long time for this service. Hamline does have a lot of clubs and organizations that aren't very difficult to join, and it is very easy to get a job on campus, so even if you don't qualify for work study you still have a chance at employment. this school does have strong sense of community. because of the quiet school atmosphere, its really easy to buckle down and focus on your studies. I had quite a bit of problems with registering for classes. dorm life is awful.
