North Central Michigan College is a public two-year institution located in Petoskey, Michigan, overlooking Little Traverse Bay of Lake Michigan in the state's northern Lower Peninsula. The main campus encompasses 195 acres of wooded grounds and includes modern academic facilities, a student and community resource center, and a recently constructed Health Education and Science Center. Founded in 1958, NCMC serves as the primary higher education institution for Michigan's tip of the mitt region, with additional learning centers in Cheboygan and Gaylord. The college maintains an open enrollment policy and offers associate degrees, certificates, and transfer programs, with notable programs in nursing, business, criminal justice, and allied health fields. While primarily a commuter campus, the college operates a residence hall that houses students in apartment-style units.
