Marygrove College, located in northwest Detroit, Michigan, operated as a private Catholic liberal arts institution from 1905 until its closure in 2019. The 53-acre campus, characterized by Gothic-style architecture and notable buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places, featured the prominent Liberal Arts Building and Madame Cadillac Hall. Initially founded by the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM) in Monroe, Michigan, the college relocated to its Detroit campus in 1927. Prior to its closure, Marygrove was known for its education and social work programs, maintaining a particular focus on urban leadership and community engagement. The campus has since been repurposed as the Marygrove Conservancy, which operates as an educational and community center serving the Detroit area.
Marygrove College is designated as a Predominantly Black Institution (PBI) and receives federal grants supporting the school's efforts to serve low and middle-income Black Americans.
