Springfield Technical Community College (STCC) occupies the grounds of the Springfield Armory National Historic Site in Springfield, Massachusetts, located approximately 90 miles west of Boston. The campus, established in 1967 on the former U.S. Army weapons manufacturing complex, incorporates both modern academic facilities and preserved 19th-century military buildings, including the historic Armory building which now houses administrative offices. As the only technical community college in Massachusetts, STCC specializes in engineering technologies, health sciences, and business programs, while maintaining an open admission policy for its associate degree and certificate programs. The 35-acre urban campus features specialized technical laboratories, a library in the rehabilitated former commandant's house, and the Springfield Armory Museum, which remains an active National Historic Site operated by the National Park Service.
