BU has an incredible psych program and top tier facilities for student researchers, with lab opportunities everywhere and chances to work with revered psychologists. Entry level classes are sometimes shallow, and there are a couple professors who are poor at teaching basic concepts. However, upper level and grad level psych courses are incredible and allow students to delve into contemporary and complex theory. BU is still overprices due to their HUB credit requirements, as outside of psych there are so many mediocre professors who teach interesting but useless information.

The school is just too big for ppl who want to succeed in their own field. The faculty and staff are not helpful when it comes to supporting students with their difficulties. They won?t start an investigation even though there are multiple complaints towards the staff. And the Professor has bias towards each students.

This school is horrible. They do not really take of their students well unless they are from wealthy backgrounds. I was called poor, had a lot of racist comments made towards me and denied a lot of opportunities by wealthier students. The school is filled with ignorant staff members.

I graduated over 50 years ago and am still happy that BU was the start of my Music education. I was a performance major and had the best instructors one can imagine. Also spent summers at Tanglewood. Went on successfully both in music and business and attribute it partially to the experience of BU and the entire education scene.

Academically wasn't easy if you are aiming for a gpa of 3.7+. Profs are excellent. School was very expensive. Only have 4 years so make the most of it.

It?s been a few years but here?s what I remember: - very international school; a lot of kids from all over the world. - campus being integrated into the city (not a lot of buildings that look like traditional school buildings) - many other schools nearby; active party scene - academics were rough; everything on an extreme curve. works both ways ? had some classes I barely scraped by on but received good grades because others did worse. - really lacked that stereotypical american college town thing that the media portrays. people took academics quite a bit more serious. - expensive. students tended to be from upper middle class to extremely wealthy.

People are competitive but generally very nice, and the education is good. A lot of resources and opportunities offered. Dorms are a little too old. Food is alright. Grade deflation though; average grade is a B (GPA 3.0), think twice if you need your U-grad grade to go to grad school.

The housing system is absolutely poor. They charge thousands of dollars and jampack multiple students in rooms only meant for one. They take old decrepid buildings, put a BU sign on it and that's it. No renovations or even safety measures have been made. Very disappointed.
