The University of Maine at Farmington (UMF), founded in 1864 as a teacher's college, is a public liberal arts institution nestled in the rural town of Farmington, approximately 35 miles northwest of Augusta, the state's capital. UMF offers an intimate campus experience, characterized by its New England charm and red-brick architecture, accommodating a robust on-campus living community across its residence halls.
