The Landing School

The Landing School, located in Arundel, Maine along the Kennebunk River, specializes exclusively in marine industry education and boat building training. The campus features waterfront facilities including boat building workshops, design studios, and a marine systems laboratory positioned to provide direct water access for testing and launching vessels. Established in 1978, the institution offers focused programs in wooden boat building, composite boat building, marine systems, and yacht design, with all programs incorporating both hands-on technical training and classroom instruction. The school maintains small class sizes and operates on a September to June academic calendar, with students completing intensive technical programs in one to two years. Campus facilities include dedicated workspace for each student, a specialized marine industry library, and modern computer-aided design equipment.
