Kennebec Valley Community College

Kennebec Valley Community College (KVCC) operates across two campuses in central Maine: the primary Harold Alfond Campus in Hinckley and the historic Fairfield campus. The 600-acre Alfond Campus, established in 2012, features contemporary academic buildings and sustainable agriculture facilities on former farmland, while the original Fairfield campus houses technical programs in a former hospital complex. Located approximately 20 miles north of Augusta, KVCC offers associate degrees and certificates with specialized programs in sustainable agriculture, electrical technology, nursing, and precision machining. The college maintains partnerships with local industries and provides workforce training programs for the central Maine region, with many students commuting from surrounding rural communities. Campus housing is not provided, as KVCC operates as a commuter institution.
