Southern University and A&M College, located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana along the Mississippi River, serves as the flagship institution of the Southern University System and is among the nation's most prominent historically Black universities. The 512-acre main campus features traditional brick buildings and modern facilities situated in a suburban setting approximately 5 miles north of downtown Baton Rouge.
