Student and Parent Reviews

Alumnus
Student success is heavily dependent on being lucky enough to find a professor who cares and doesn't already have 20+ students to advise. Professors are allowed to do whatever they like, including passing students who don't show up and asking others to babysit instead of learn during class. A lot is done to visually improve the school, but no substantial innerworkings have been changed to benefit the student. Outside of issues with professors in class, faculty and staff have an aversion to well-done work and often blame students for issues that they (the faculty and staff) caused.

Centenary is a dying school living on its endowment from yesteryear. The campus is NOT safe and is in a crime infested area. 20 years ago it was probably good but not any longer. They went from D1 to D3 and my high school had better athletics. Greek life is a joke with the 5 actives who try to act like they are selective. The faculty is a mix with some decent professors but there are a few who got their PhDs in night school from Louisiana Tech which is a joke. Don't expect to go here and get a good job. You'd be better off going to a public university if you plan to get a job.
