Centenary College of Louisiana, located in Shreveport, Louisiana, is a private liberal arts college established in 1825. It is the oldest chartered liberal arts college west of the Mississippi River. The institution maintains a historic affiliation with the United Methodist Church. Known for its picturesque campus, which features a blend of historic and modern architecture, Centenary offers a residential experience with over 60 percent of students living on campus. Academically, the college is noted for programs in the natural sciences, business, and the humanities, with a selective admission process that evaluates individual student potential beyond test scores. While the college is not predominantly recognized for its athletic prowess, it competes in NCAA Division III sports under the team name the Gentlemen and Ladies.
