The University of Louisville is a public research institution located in Kentucky's largest city, situated along the Ohio River. Established in 1798, it stands as one of the oldest urban universities in the United States, with its main Belknap Campus characterized by both historic red-brick buildings and modern academic facilities spread across 287 acres.
