Union College, located in the southeastern Kentucky town of Barbourville at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, is a private liberal arts institution affiliated with the United Methodist Church. Founded in 1879, the college operates on a 100-acre campus that combines historic brick buildings with modern academic facilities. Union maintains a selective admissions process and offers undergraduate programs with particular strengths in business, education, and nursing, while also providing several online degree completion options. The college provides traditional dormitory housing for its residential students and competes in the NAIA Mid-South Conference, where it fields teams known as the Bulldogs in multiple sports including basketball, soccer, and swimming.
