Mid-Continent University was a private Christian institution located in Mayfield, Kentucky, approximately 25 miles south of Paducah, until its closure in 2014. The university occupied a rural campus setting and primarily served working adults through its adult degree completion program known as the ADVANTAGE program. Originally founded in 1949 as Baptist Bible Institute, it later became a four-year college focused on biblical studies and business administration. The institution maintained Baptist affiliations throughout its operational years and offered both traditional undergraduate programs and accelerated adult education formats before financial difficulties led to its permanent closure.
