Highland Community College

Highland Community College, located in the rural northeastern Kansas town of Highland, serves as the oldest continuously operating college in the state, established in 1858. The main campus occupies 33 acres of rolling prairie landscape, featuring a mix of historic and modern academic buildings, including the original structure that now houses administrative offices. The college maintains a traditional residential campus setting with student housing options while also operating several regional technical education centers throughout its nine-county service area. HCC offers associate degrees and technical certificates, with strong programs in agriculture, nursing, and technical education, and competes in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference as the Scotties in both men's and women's athletics.
