Dordt University, located in the rural community of Sioux Center in northwest Iowa, operates as a private Christian institution in the Reformed theological tradition. The 150-acre campus features modern academic facilities and residential buildings surrounded by agricultural land, positioned approximately 45 miles northeast of Sioux City. The university, established in 1955 as Dordt College and renamed in 2019, maintains a selective admission process and offers liberal arts programs with particularly strong offerings in agriculture, engineering, education, and business administration. All first-year students are required to live in campus housing, and the university maintains a residential community where most students reside on campus.
