Earlham College is a private liberal arts institution situated in Richmond, Indiana, approximately one hour east of Indianapolis and 75 minutes northwest of Cincinnati. The 800-acre campus combines both wooded areas and traditional collegiate architecture, featuring a mix of historic red brick buildings and modern facilities, including the Center for Science and Technology. Founded by the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) in 1847, Earlham maintains its connection to Quaker values while welcoming students of all backgrounds. The college is known for its strong programs in the sciences, particularly biology and chemistry, as well as its peace and global studies curriculum, with many students participating in off-campus study programs worldwide. Residential life is central to the Earlham experience, with most students living in campus housing throughout their four years, and the college competes in NCAA Division III athletics as the Quakers.
