Saint Xavier University, located on the southwest side of Chicago, Illinois, is a private, four-year institution that was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1846. It is recognized as the first Mercy college in the United States and one of the oldest Catholic institutions in the Midwest. Saint Xavier maintains a diverse academic profile with a strong emphasis on nursing, education, and business programs. While the university has a moderately selective admissions process, it remains committed to providing accessible education. The campus features a mix of traditional, gothic architecture and modern facilities, with options for on-campus housing to accommodate its student population.
