North Park University sits on a 30-acre campus in Chicago's Albany Park neighborhood on the city's north side, positioned along the North Branch of the Chicago River. Founded in 1891 by the Evangelical Covenant Church, the university maintains its Christian liberal arts tradition while serving a diverse urban student population. The institution offers undergraduate and graduate programs across its schools of business, education, nursing, and arts and sciences, with particular recognition for its nursing and business programs. North Park requires most undergraduate students to live on campus for their first three years, housing them in traditional residence halls and apartment-style buildings. The university competes in NCAA Division III athletics as the Vikings, participating in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin.
