Benedictine University is a private Roman Catholic institution located in Lisle, Illinois, approximately 25 miles west of Chicago. The university was founded by the Benedictine monks of St. Procopius Abbey in the 1880s and maintains a commitment to the intellectual, personal, professional, and ethical development of its students. Situated on a peaceful suburban campus encompassing prairie architectural elements, Benedictine University offers a range of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs. Notably, the university is recognized for its health sciences, business, and liberal arts programs. Benedictine University has a broadly selective admissions process that seeks a diverse and capable student body. The campus provides resident housing facilities aimed at fostering an inclusive educational environment. Although not renowned for athletics, the university houses varsity teams known as the Eagles, participating in the NCAA Division III.
