The university's campus is noted for its red-brick buildings and a blend of modern and historic architecture, offering a serene setting conducive to academic pursuits. NNU provides on-campus housing for students in the form of residence halls and apartment-style living spaces. Academically, it has a broad spectrum of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs with notable emphasis on the fields of theology, business, nursing, and education. Admission to NNU is moderately selective, appealing to a wide range of applicants. The NNU Crusaders compete in NCAA Division II athletics, and while athletics are a component of campus life, they are not the primary focus of the university's national reputation.
