Macon State College, located in Macon, Georgia, is a former state college that was consolidated with Middle Georgia State University in 2013. The campus, known prior to its consolidation for a modern architectural style, was settled in the heart of Georgia, approximately 85 miles south of Atlanta, offering students a blend of urban and pastoral settings. The institution emphasized a commitment to personalized education and accessible higher learning, catering to a diverse student body with a range of associate and bachelor?s degree programs. While historically maintaining a relatively inclusive admissions policy, Macon State was recognized for its programs in Nursing and Information Technology. The college did not offer on-campus housing, encouraging a commuter and non-traditional student experience. Prior to its consolidation, athletic programs were not a prominent feature of the Macon State College campus experience.
