Georgia Military College

Georgia Military College (GMC), located in historic Milledgeville, Georgia's former state capital, operates as a public military junior college approximately 100 miles southeast of Atlanta. The institution, established in 1879 on the grounds of the former state capitol building, maintains its original Gothic Revival architecture while serving as both a military preparatory school and a two-year college. GMC offers associate degrees and prepares cadets for transfer to four-year institutions, with particularly strong programs in military science, business, and liberal arts. While the college maintains a Corps of Cadets program for residential students pursuing military training, the majority of GMC's student population consists of civilian commuter students, and the institution operates multiple satellite campuses throughout Georgia.

Georgia Military College is designated as a Predominantly Black Institution (PBI) and receives federal grants supporting the school's efforts to serve low and middle-income Black Americans.
