East Georgia State College is a public access institution located in Swainsboro, Georgia, approximately 70 miles west of Savannah and 100 miles southeast of Macon. Founded in 1973 as Emanuel County Junior College, the institution serves as a primary access point for higher education in rural southeast Georgia and offers associate degrees along with select bachelor's degree programs in biology and fire and emergency services administration. The college maintains satellite campuses in Statesboro and Augusta, partnering with Georgia Southern University and Augusta University to provide transfer pathways for students.
