Overview

Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC), located in Macon, Georgia, is a public, two-year higher education institution offering a range of associate degree programs, diplomas, and technical certificates of credit. Despite its urban setting in Central Georgia, close to the major city of Atlanta, the college maintains a suburban-like campus atmosphere. Since its inception in 1962, CGTC has developed into a pivotal provider of workforce education in the region. The college is known for its open admissions policy, with a generally non-selective application process favoring accessibility and community enrichment. While the college does not provide on-campus housing, it serves a diverse student population largely composed of commuters. Among its academic offerings, CGTC is recognized for programs in areas such as Health Sciences, Business and Computer Technologies, and Technical and Industrial disciplines. Central Georgia Technical College has an open admission policy which permits enrollment by any high school graduate or GED holding student.  2,712 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 3,415 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $1,920 plus fees of $330.
