Augusta University, formerly Augusta State University, is located in Augusta, Georgia, approximately 150 miles east of Atlanta along the Savannah River. The public research institution operates across multiple campuses in the Augusta metropolitan area, with its main Summerville Campus known for its historic architecture and landscaped grounds.
