Florida Southern College, established in 1883, is a private liberal arts college located in Lakeland, Florida, approximately midway between Tampa and Orlando. Renowned for its Frank Lloyd Wright-designed "Child of the Sun" collection of buildings, the campus merges historical architecture with a scenic lakeside setting. The college offers a comprehensive array of undergraduate programs, with Business, Communications, Education, and Nursing being among the most popular majors. A moderately selective institution, Florida Southern maintains a commitment to academic rigor and personalized education through small class sizes and a student-to-faculty ratio that encourages individual attention. Residential life is an integral component of the student experience, with a variety of housing options available on campus.
