Florida Institute of Technology (FIT), established in 1958, is a private research university located in Melbourne, Florida, approximately 60 miles southeast of Orlando. With a diverse student body, FIT spans across a 130-acre subtropical campus that reflects a modern architectural style, conducive to its coastal environment. The university offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs, featuring specialties in engineering, aeronautics, psychology, and oceanography. While FIT has a moderately selective admissions process, it provides on-campus housing options for students aiming to experience a close-knit living-learning environment. Academically, FIT is recognized for its strong emphasis on science and technology disciplines, aiming to foster innovation and research.
