Edward Waters College (EWC) is a private historically black college located in Jacksonville, Florida. Initially founded in 1866 to educate freed former slaves, it is the oldest institution of higher education in Florida. The college is situated in an urban setting and offers a range of bachelor's degree programs, with a noted emphasis on the liberal arts, business, education, and the natural sciences.
