Founded in 1903, Western Connecticut State University (WCSU) is a public institution located in Danbury, Connecticut, a city known for its proximity to the cultural and economic opportunities of New York City, roughly 70 miles to the southwest. The university's two campuses, Midtown and Westside, feature a blend of traditional and modern architecture, with a range of facilities that support both academic and extracurricular endeavors. WCSU enrolls approximately 5,000 undergraduate students across a variety of programs, with notable strengths in music, particularly through their acclaimed School of Visual and Performing Arts, as well as in business, justice and law administration, and the sciences. The university is recognized for its accessible admissions process, aiming to accommodate a diverse undergraduate cohort.
