The University of Hartford, located in West Hartford, Connecticut, offers a blend of suburban and urban campus experiences just a short distance from the state capital, Hartford. Founded in 1957 through the merging of three schools, it has evolved into a comprehensive institution known for its diverse academic offerings, including strong programs in engineering, business, and performing arts. The university?s distinctive architecture, which ranges from modern to gothic, complements its wooded, 350-acre campus where student housing is available, fostering an intimate yet vibrant on-campus living environment. With a moderately selective admissions process, the University of Hartford attracts a varied student body to its seven schools and colleges. While not broadly recognized for its athletic teams, known as the Hartford Hawks, the university does offer a range of NCAA Division I sports programs for student-athletes.
