The University of Saint Joseph is located in West Hartford, Connecticut, a suburban community five miles from downtown Hartford. Founded in 1932 by the Sisters of Mercy as a women's college, the institution became fully coeducational in 2018 while maintaining its Catholic heritage. The 84-acre main campus features Georgian Colonial-style architecture, with academic facilities centered around a traditional quad. USJ offers undergraduate and graduate programs with particular strengths in nursing, pharmacy, education, and health sciences, while also housing Connecticut's first four-year pharmacy doctoral program. Students can reside in one of four campus residence halls, and the university competes in NCAA Division III athletics as the Blue Jays.
