Lamar Community College is a public two-year institution located in Lamar, Colorado, a rural community in the southeastern part of the state approximately 120 miles east of Pueblo. Established in 1937, the college occupies a compact campus with modern educational facilities and student housing options for its residential students. LCC offers career and technical education programs, transfer degree pathways, and specialized training in agriculture, horse training and management, and nursing. The college maintains strong connections with regional industries and operates an equine complex and agriculture science facilities to support its agricultural programs. As a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association, LCC fields competitive teams in baseball, softball, volleyball, and men's and women's basketball as the Runnin' Lopes.
