The University of the Pacific, located in Stockton, California, sits on a 175-acre campus in the Central Valley, approximately 80 miles east of San Francisco. Founded in 1851 as California's first chartered university, Pacific features collegiate Gothic-style architecture and maintains additional campuses in Sacramento and San Francisco. The private university is known for its accelerated programs, including the direct-entry dental program and pre-pharmacy tracks, while also offering comprehensive undergraduate programs in business, engineering, and music at its main campus. The institution provides traditional dormitory housing for undergraduates, with most first- and second-year students residing on campus, and competes in NCAA Division I athletics as the Pacific Tigers, notably in water polo and volleyball.
