The University of California, Merced, established in 2005 as the tenth campus of the University of California system, is a modern public research university located in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley, a short drive from major urban areas such as Fresno and the San Francisco Bay Area. UC Merced?s campus is recognized for its contemporary architecture and commitment to sustainability, with several buildings meeting LEED certification standards.
