My experience is from many years ago in Engineering. I have worked and studied with graduates of many Engineering programs. My observations suggest Berkeley puts more emphasis on theory and fundamentals - i.e. how the formulas are derived and how things really work from physics. It served me very well at work and when I later when worked on my MS from Stanford. No school teaches undergrad engineers cutting edge. You will be well prepared to quickly learn the application of any specific technology.
