Southwestern College is a public community college located in Chula Vista, California, positioned approximately 12 miles south of downtown San Diego and 8 miles north of the U.S.-Mexico border. The main campus spans 156 acres and features a mix of modern and traditional buildings, including recently constructed wellness and performing arts centers. Founded in 1961, Southwestern serves as the primary higher education institution in southern San Diego County, operating additional centers in National City, San Ysidro, and Otay Mesa.
