Admission Selectivity

How hard is it to get into Pomona and can you get accepted?

Pomona is an extremely competitive school to get into, admitting fewer than one in ten applicants. You have a very low chance of acceptance even if you meet last year's profile.

Most incoming freshmen graduate in the top ten percent of their high school class or better. Of those admitted, 50% enrolled. That suggests Pomona is a top choice for many students who are offered a place.

Pomona Test Policy

Test Submission Requirements

Pomona College is test-optional for first-year applicants in the 2026-27 admissions cycle. SAT or ACT scores are not required, though you may choose to self-report them on your application. If you submit the ACT, Pomona requires the Core ACT plus the Science section and will superscore ACT section scores across sittings. Official score reports are required only if you are admitted, enroll, and self-reported scores. There is no admissions advantage to submitting a test, and scores already on a transcript or sent by an agency are ignored if you apply without tests.
