Established in 1887, Pomona College is a private liberal arts institution located in Claremont, California, approximately 35 miles east of Los Angeles. Pomona's campus features a mix of contemporary and historical architecture set within a 140-acre landscape. Recognized for its rigorous academics, Pomona offers a wide range of majors, with particular strengths in the social sciences, natural sciences, and humanities. The college operates on a semester system, providing a comprehensive liberal arts education through small classes and close faculty-student interaction.
