Overview

Mt. San Antonio College, commonly referred to as Mt. SAC, is a public community college located in Walnut, California, approximately 25 miles east of Downtown Los Angeles. Renowned for its expansive 420-acre suburban campus, this institution boasts a diverse range of academic programs, with notable strengths in aeronautics, nursing, and animal science. Established in 1945, Mt. SAC has a history of providing accessible education and career training. The college has an open admissions policy, making higher education attainable for many prospective students. While primarily a commuter college, Mt. SAC offers limited on-campus housing options to its students. The academic environment is enhanced by state-of-the-art facilities such as the Design Technology Center and the Natural Sciences Complex. Although Mt. SAC has an array of athletic teams known as the Mounties, it emphasizes a comprehensive educational experience rather than being distinguished solely for its athletics.

Mt. San Antonio College has an open admission policy which permits enrollment by any high school graduate or GED holding student.  8,903 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 17,353 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $1,288 plus fees of $64.
