Los Angeles Southwest College (LASC) is a public community college located in the West Athens-Westmont area of Los Angeles County, approximately 8 miles south of downtown Los Angeles. Established in 1967 in response to the Watts Riots, the college serves the South Los Angeles community from its 65-acre campus, which features modern classroom buildings and laboratory facilities.
